Site Connectivity
Wider Area Connectivity
The area surrounding the site has a good level of connectivity. Especially to the wider London area. This can be seen from the A1020, coming through the area, linking to the North Circular road. To both the North and South of the site, there are DLR stations. Which provide easy and quick access into central London. There are a number of pedestrian and cycle routes in the area. The Royal Victoria Dock Footbridge provides quicker access to the north side of the dock. There is the capability to add to this connectivity.

Site Permeability
We have designed the site to allow for easy access through the area for both vehicles and pedestrians. A greater emphasis on pedestrian priority has been taken, with pedestrianised streets being defined with a change of material, with tarmac to raised block paving. These can be seen below in orange. The road located in the largest public open space, will be restricted to normal traffic. With rising bollards allowing access if and when required.
Further supporting pedestrianisation in key areas within the site. We wanted to ensure that the site conformed with the idea of the 15 minute city. With the capability to access any of the areas on the site within a 15 minute walking radius.

Post COVID
Due to the COVID pandemic, there has been a greater emphasis on people using bikes and walking to get around, instead of using cars and public transport. By taking this information and implementing it into our design. It has enabled us to future proof the design of the site.
